Sunday Evening Service
-First Sunday of every month at 5 PM: evening service on OPC missions.
-Third Sunday of every month at 5 PM: communion service; these services are intended especially to benefit those with difficulties attending the monthly morning communion service.
-Nursery is provided downstairs for the youngest kids, but it is a family friendly informal service.
Every 4th Sunday night at 5 PM will be an informal time of devotion, food and fellowship for the whole family. We have 3 Shepherding groups divided by region with each group determining its own schedule and plan. If you live West of Danville (Milton Area), you are invited to the Garvins. If you live in Danville, you are invited to the Reasons. If you live East of Danville (Bloomsburg Area), you are invited to the Chartowichs.
Adult Sunday School- resumes September 3, 9:30 am
In honor of the 500 year anniversary of the Reformation, we will have a class on “Martin Luther and the Reformation” taught by Jeff Sodergren
Children’s Sunday School
-Kindergarten-3rd Grade: “Living Together” (fellowship hall)
-4th-6th Grade: “Pilgrim’s Progress” (fellowship hall)
-These classes use curriculum from Great Commission Publication. Each week the children are taught a Bible story, after which they discuss what they’ve heard, sing, pray, and memorize Scripture. The younger class also often do crafts and acting out Bible stories.
– 7th-12th grade: R.C. Sproul video series
Toddler’s Sunday school
-2 years old/ Pre-K: “God Created all Things”
-The curriculum in use is Great Commission Publication’s Toddler curriculum, The children study Bible stories, sing, pray and learn the catechism questions and answers.
Women’s Bible Study & Service Project
Every first Thursday of the month starting September 7th, we will meet to do the LuoPad project at the Beveridge Family Life Center at First Baptist Church in Danville. This starts at 10 there. Every other Thursday of the month we will meet at Redeemer OPC, 1820 Montour Boulevard, Danville, PA 17821 at 9:30 for a series on Joshua by Kathleen Nielsen, led by Tesha Garvin. Women’s Book Study
The Women’s Fellowship meets monthly on Saturdays for brunch and to discuss various Bible study books and other Christian books and articles. September 16th we will be starting a study of Timothy Witmer’s Mindscape: what to think about instead of worrying.
This class meets certain times of the year during the normal Sunday school hour for all those interested in learning more about what our church believes and who are considering joining Redeemer. Pastor Reason uses the pamphlet “Confessing Christ” as well as the Westminster Confession to guide a discussion of various topics related to the Reformed faith.
