Outreach

Our faithful response to the great commission

How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have not heard? How are they to hear without someone preaching? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”  Romans 10:14-15

Local Outreach Ministries

The Redeemer OPC Outreach Committee seeks to be faithful to the scriptural mandate to reach the world with the good news of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. The Committee is a team of church members taken from a wide cross-section of church membership. In close coordination with church leadership, the Committee discusses, explores, and facilitates ways for our church members to live out this biblical mandate. Listed below are opportunities for our congregation to answer this call.

Disciple Makers

DiscipleMakers is a Christian campus ministry based in Pennsylvania. DiscipleMakers goal is to raise up the next generation of leaders for the Church by training college students in Bible study, gospel-driven discipleship, and evangelism. Find out more by visiting https://www.dm.org/

Stronghold

Stronghold Foam Sword Fighting Ministries has a club that regularly meets at Redeemer. At Stronghold we teach youth an exciting battle game where they use a variety of foam medieval gear such as swords, shields, and spears. Our game play encourages honorable conduct, teamwork, and perseverance. We will also have Bible study where we learn how to follow Christ and apologetics (knowing how to use logic and reason to share/explain the Christian faith).

This club and ministry is directed by Stephen Ippolito, local missionary who is a member of Redeemer OPC. You can sign up for current Stronghold clubs and events at: https://www.strongholdswordfighting.com/

Regional Home Missionary

Redeemer OPC also supports church planting efforts through the presbytery’s Regional Home Missionary, Pastor Andrew Miller. Serving as an evangelist in Central PA, Rev. Andrew Miller assists OPC churches like Redeemer to plant daughter churches and do outreach, and brings together contacts to form Bible studies and mission works within the presbytery’s boundaries. You can learn more about these efforts of “Home Missions” at goodnewscentralpa.org.

Worldwide Outreach

Christian Education
The Lord Jesus Christ declares, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matt. 28:18-20). The Committee on Christian Education seeks to serve the Orthodox Presbyterian Church by providing resources and training for teaching about the only name by which men may be saved. Find out more.

Foreign Missions
These are wonderful days to be alive, and by His mercy, to be holders of the grand truths of the doctrines of grace, and to be in the service of the King. Having received so much, it is our pleasure to share with others around the world the good news of repentance for forgiveness of sins through Him. The Orthodox Presbyterian Church has established the Committee on Foreign Missions to oversee and conduct the work of foreign missions on behalf of the church. Find out more.

Home Missions
Throughout the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean there is a pressing need for ministers and congregations who will be faithful to God’s Word, and who are willing to be brought close to those whom God is calling to be Christ’s sheep. The Committee on Home Missions helps the presbyteries of the OPC to get new churches started, to find and train organizing pastors, and to provide hands-on assistance for those who are on the front lines of the struggle for the souls of men.
